Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Senior AWS/Kafka Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines across heterogeneous ERP systems, data lakes, and platforms. The role combines Java/Spring Boot microservices, Docker containers, Kubernetes, and IaC to enable scalable data flows.

You will work in a hybrid environment across multiple U.S. locations, applying AWS managed Kafka, stream processing, and CI/CD practices to ensure data integrity and timely insights for enterprise

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software/data engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in AWS, Kafka, Java, Spring Boot, Python.
• Expertise in AWS Managed Kafka (data & integration)
• Design and configure AWS Managed Kafka
• Experience working on PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy robust real-time and batch data pipelines.
• Leverage Kafka, Kafka Connect, and stream processing engines to process CDC and transactional data.
• Build microservices with Java/Spring Boot to orchestrate data flows and APIs.
• Package applications in Docker and manage deployments with Kubernetes.
• Manage multi-database environments (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Set up IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting with DataDog/New Relic/Splunk.
