Job summary

LaTronic Solutions LLC is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Springfield, VA team on a 1099 contract, onsite five days a week. The role focuses on automating migrations to AWS and building resilient cloud architectures with CloudFormation, Terraform, and other IaC tools.

You will work with a cross-functional team to optimize cost, performance, and security while adhering to governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Active Security Clearance is mandatory.
• Minimum 4 years of AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift, Python).
• Experience with implementing and troubleshooting workloads in AWS.
• Proficient in creating CloudFormation Templates (CFTs).
• Familiar with IaC using Terraform, AWS CodeDeploy, CloudFormation; GitLab, GitHub, Jira.
• Strong communication to identify and resolve issues; proactive mindset.
• 4 years in software development tools/methodologies; 4 years infra/database architecture; AWS deployment experience.

Responsibilities

• Automate migration from development to production on AWS; create/update CloudFormation templates.
• Guide engineering during transition from on-premise to cloud; optimize workloads for cost, scalability, governance.
• Provide support for production, staging, and deployment environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan architecture and solutions.
• Utilize AWS expertise to inform decisions; automate with PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl.

Requirements

Must have:

• Active Security Clearance is mandatory
• Proficient knowledge of AWS Services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, Management tools, Security, Identity, and Compliance
• Minimum of 4 years experience working with AWS (EC2, Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift, Python programming)
• Experience in implementing and troubleshooting workloads within AWS
• Competence in creating CloudFormation Templates (CFTs)
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, GitLab, GitHub, Jira
• Strong communication skills with the ability to identify and resolve customer issues
• Capability to think strategically and act proactively
• 4 years of expertise in software development tools and methodologies
• 4 years of experience in infrastructure and database architecture, as well as networking
• 4 years of experience in architecting and deploying operational solutions on AWS
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• AWS certification is a plus
