Job summary

System One in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering team. The role focuses on automating AWS infrastructure, networking, and security with strong Python, IaC, and CloudFormation expertise to build scalable automation solutions.

You will design and maintain automation frameworks, collaborate across Infrastructure, Security, and Architecture, operate in an Agile sprint environment, and contribute to securing enterprise cloud

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT/software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure and cloud automation.

• Significant experience automating infrastructure, not just administering AWS via the console.

• Maintain and enhance existing production automation platforms and scripts.
• Develop solutions for network security automation and network monitoring/enrichment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer to join a Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering team focused on automating AWS infrastructure, networking, and security functions. This is an engineering-focused Infrastructure/Network Automation role requiring strong Python development, AWS networking, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and AWS-native automation experience. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience building and maintaining scalable automation solutions for AWS infrastructure and network environments. This is not a traditional DevOps, Cloud Administrator, Application Developer, or GenAI Engineer position.
