Job summary

NV5 Geospatial in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a mission-focused Systems Administrator with active DoD clearance to support AWS GovCloud DoD workloads at IL4/IL5/IL6 levels.

You will design, secure, and maintain AWS GovCloud infrastructure, enforce DoD standards (RMF, STIGs, NIST 800-53), implement Zero Trust, manage IAM, patching, logging, and incident response, with hybrid work and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
• IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP).
• 3+ years of hands-on systems administration experience, with AWS GovCloud.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud services (EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, KMS).
• Proficiency in Windows Server environments.
• Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements (RMF, STIGs, NIST SP 800-53).
• Automation experience with scripting and IaC (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting in AWS environments.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain AWS GovCloud (US) infrastructure for DoD workloads IL4/IL5/IL6.
• Ensure compliance with DoD standards including RMF, STIGs, FedRAMP High, and NIST SP 800-53.
• Design and manage EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC in classified environments.
• Implement Zero Trust Architecture with robust IAM and MFA.
• Manage patching, backups, logging, and compliance scans with DoD tools.
• Support ATO packages and POA&M with IA teams.
• Implement logging/alerting with CloudWatch, AWS Config, Security Hub; integrate SIEM (Splunk/ELK).
• Provide Tier 3 support and incident response; document operations.
