Job summary

CADRE GOVERNMENT SOLUTIONS seeks an AWS / ETL Engineer to design and build an end-to-end email workflow integrating Salesforce and AWS, delivering high-volume outbound communications. You will assess architecture for scale and implement production-ready components with robust documentation.

You will work hands-on across AWS, Salesforce, and VA Notify, ensuring security, auditability, and observability while coordinating with stakeholders and governance teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering, systems integration, ETL development, and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS (including DLQ patterns), S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with Salesforce integration patterns, including outbound/inbound callouts, Apex, Flow automation, and document-generation tools such as S-Docs (or comparable tools).
• Working knowledge of VA Notify (or comparable notification APIs) for status, bounce, and failure reporting.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python).
• Demonstrated experience with full test lifecycle and CI/CD deployment across environments.
• Experience with federal government contracts and security/compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).
• Ability to produce architectural documentation and communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate S-Docs' template generation and data dependencies for scalable quality.
• Analyze Salesforce integration paths for scalable, high-volume email delivery to AWS.
• Assess AWS Lambda capacity, queues, and monitoring to support transformation and delivery to VA Notify.
• Review VA Notify API capabilities and status-reporting mechanisms.
• Validate scalability, security, auditability, observability, and compliance alignment.
• Document findings, decisions, risks, and traceability for governance.
• Summarize analysis with data flows, diagrams, and decision logs for teams and stakeholders.
• Build/refine data models and orchestration across Salesforce, AWS, and VA Notify.
• Develop capabilities including S-Docs automation, outbound callouts, inbound status processing, dashboards/reports.
• Implement API Gateway endpoints, Lambda, SQS with DLQ, and logging/monitoring pipelines.
• Execute unit, integration, end-to-end, and high-volume load testing.
• Deploy changes via CI/CD across dev/QA/UAT/production with monitoring.
• Finalize documentation, runbooks, and handover training for admins/support.
