Job summary
Booz Allen Hamilton in Honolulu, HI is seeking an AWS Edge Computing Engineer to design secure, portable, high-performance compute solutions for mission-critical environments. You will build edge architectures that thrive in disconnected or remote locations with zero-trust security and rugged reliability.
You will integrate AI models at the edge using AWS IoT Greengrass, Snowball Edge, and SageMaker Edge Manager, and collaborate across teams to deploy edge workloads that empower the mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required.
- Experience deploying workloads at the edge with AWS IoT Greengrass, Snowball Edge, or SageMaker Edge Manager.
- Strong background in edge AI/ML deployment, security at rest and in transit, and zero-trust architectures.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure, portable, high-performance edge compute solutions for mission-critical environments.

- Experience with AWS IoT Greengrass, Snowball Edge, or SageMaker Edge Manager for deploying and managing workloads at the tactical edge
- Experience with deploying optimized AI and ML models to edge devices, including quantization, pruning, or model telemetry at the edge, or implementing secure boot, artifact signing, or encryption at rest or in transit
- Experience with containerization technologies, micro-service network architecture, or CI/CD tools, including GitLab
- Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products
- Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
- Knowledge of the broader ecosystem and technical environment of software programming
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with SD-WAN, 5g, NextG, and satellite connectivity
- Experience with incorporating Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), vulnerability scanning, and compliance-as-code for secure deployments
- Experience orchestrating OTA updates and rollback strategies over constrained links
- Experience with AWS Outposts and hybrid architectures for tactical and disconnected environments
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
