Job summary

Sciata is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to support federal government projects in a hybrid Washington, DC area setting. The role focuses on building secure cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, and embedding security across the development lifecycle.

Ideal candidates bring strong AWS hands-on experience, CloudFormation expertise, and a track record delivering CI/CD pipelines within compliant, regulated environments. Local onsite work is required two days per week.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of relevant DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or related experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Practical experience deploying and managing AWS infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation / Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building, maintaining, or supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation.
• Understanding of secure software development and deployment practices.
• Practical knowledge of implementing and testing security controls.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS.
• Build and manage infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational processes.
• Integrate security controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Support applications in a Zero Trust security environment.
• Collaborate with developers to align infrastructure with requirements.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Support both new development and existing production applications.
• Participate in security implementation, validation, and testing.
