Job summary

Securian Financial Group is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting data and analytics platforms. You will own IaC-based infrastructure, collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science teams, and drive secure, scalable solutions using AWS services.

You will lead CI/CD efforts, implement monitoring, and optimize costs while ensuring security and reliability across Linux-based environments. A hybrid work arrangement is available in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS
• Experience with structured and unstructured data storage (RDS Postgres, S3)
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK)
• Experience with AWS data/analytics services (Glue, Redshift)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (Git, GitHub, CI/CD, Docker)
• Basic scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, and cost optimization
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Champion selection of Data & Analytics platforms across the enterprise
• Run proof-of-concepts with users and vendors to validate new solutions
• Onboard new platforms/tools for enterprise adoption
• Collaborate with Data Engineering/Science to fill tooling gaps
• Build and maintain AWS infra using IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Configure core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, VPC)
• Support data pipelines by provisioning cloud resources
• Implement monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch)
• Participate in CI/CD and deployment automation
• Ensure infra security via IAM, encryption, and networking configurations
• Document infra processes for transparency and knowledge sharing
• Work with ambiguity and organize requirements
• Build productive relationships with partners and stakeholders
• Manage Linux systems and shell scripting for reliable operations
