Job summary

GeeksForLess Inc. is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to own the AWS infrastructure for an ongoing healthcare project. You will manage client accounts and our AWS Organization, deploy via Terraform, and monitor costs and security. The role emphasizes hands-on change of live production with robust checks and no QA team.

You will work closely with the tech leadership, review AI-generated code, and ensure adherence to compliance and audit requirements while embracing daily use of AI coding agents.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience in DevOps/Cloud Engineering.
• Deep AWS expertise: VPC, routing, IAM, ECS, RDS, CloudWatch.
• Production Terraform experience with remote state management.
• Strong troubleshooting of network issues without guessing.
• Security and audit readiness with least-privilege design.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions, OIDC, and secure secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Own the AWS infrastructure across client accounts and our AWS Organization.
• Implement Terraform code for accounts, network, access, deployments, monitoring, and cost.
• Change live production infrastructure with thorough plan and checks.
• Review work from AI coding agents and maintain accountability.
• Coordinate handover from the CTO and ensure knowledge transfer.

Job description

We are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer for an ongoing healthcare project. You will have full ownership of the AWS infrastructure and use AI coding agents daily.

Remote (EU, Spain preferred) | Full-time (CET) | No On-Call

Responsibilities

• Own the AWS infrastructure — client accounts and our own AWS Organization — as
  Terraform code: accounts, network, access, deployments, monitoring, cost.
• Change live production infrastructure: with no staging copy of production, your plan
  and checks are the safety net.
• Verify your own work: there is no QA engineer and no QA team. You will not be left on
  your own — the tech lead and the CTO both write code daily and we share knowledge
  constantly — but checking your own area of work is your responsibility.
• Take over this area from the CTO, who runs it today — with a structured handover.
• Use AI coding agents daily; you review and stay responsible for everything they produce

Requirements

Location: Remote (European Union)

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
• AWS: Deep hands‑on expertise with VPC, routing, IAM, ECS, RDS, and CloudWatch.
• Production Terraform: Proven track record writing modules and managing remote state on live infrastructure (plan, review, apply, validate, rollback).
• Network Diagnostics: Ability to identify faults at the correct layer (routing, VPN, DNS, or security groups) without guessing.
• Security & Compliance: Least privilege design and ability to provide audit‑ready evidence.
• CI/CD: Hands‑on experience with GitHub Actions (or equivalent), OIDC authentication, and secure secrets management.
