Job summary

Insight Global in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced Platform Engineer to join the Platform team managing the Data Science platform. You will support Data Science Infrastructure operations and develop AWS environments using CI/CD processes for a growing team of Data Scientists.

The role emphasizes large-scale environment management, IaC with Terraform, Python scripting, and hands-on work with databases such as Athena, Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres, ensuring security and on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in Data Science Infrastructure.
• 5+ years extensive experience with Data Lake, Data Science, and AI/ML services hosted on AWS infrastructure.
• 5+ years working knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS services (SageMaker, Glue, Lambda, Athena), CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, IaC tools like Terraform.
• 5+ years experience in technical write-ups.
• AWS and Terraform certified professionals (CKA preferred).
• Knowledge of Python and shell scripting.
• Experience with Athena, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• CI/CD and IaC tools such as Azure DevOps and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing Data Science Infrastructure operations.
• Develop and deploy AWS environments using CI/CD processes for a rapidly growing team of Data Scientists.
• Manage and support large-scale environments to meet current and future Data Science needs.
• Implement and oversee image management lifecycle processes.
• Assist in setting up AWS accounts for the Data Science platform.
• Hands-on development using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Use Terraform for environment setup and management.
• Develop scripts and applications using Python.
• Manage databases including Athena, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Leverage AWS services essential for Data Lake, Data Science, AI/ML teams.
• Handle requests from development and business users and resolve roadblocks.
• Ensure secured infrastructure, enforce security measures, and maintain audit logs.
• Perform system upgrades and patching, provide on-call support.
• Conduct root cause analysis and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Collaborate with Network, Database, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams.
