Job summary

R Systems is seeking an AWS Cloud Migration Lead to drive end-to-end migrations across multiple locations including Dallas, Seattle, San Jose, Sacramento and NJ. The role requires hands-on AWS expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate across diverse teams.

The candidate will oversee assessment, wave planning, cutover, rollback, and hypercare while ensuring security and operational excellence. Long-term engagement with opportunities for strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Lead AWS cloud migrations end-to-end including assessment, planning, cutover, rollback and hypercare.
• Hands-on with core AWS services and migration tools across multiple stacks.
• Drive migration of applications across Windows/Linux environments and databases.
• Provide architectural guidance and governance for secure, scalable cloud transitions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end AWS cloud migrations, including assessment, wave planning, cutover, rollback, validation, and hypercare.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful migration of apps and data.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on migration best practices and tooling.

Job Requirement

Lead end-to-end AWS cloud migrations, including assessment, wave planning, cutover, rollback, validation, and hypercare.

• Hands-on expertise with EC2, VPC, S3, EBS, EFS, IAM, Route 53, CloudWatch, Control Tower, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect.
• Strong migration tooling experience with AWS MGN, Migration Hub, DMS, DataSync, Application Discovery Service, Migration Evaluator.
• Drive application and infrastructure migrations across Windows, Linux, VMware, Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat.
• Lead database migrations involving Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, including CDC and replication.
• Strong AWS networking knowledge across subnets, routing, Security Groups, NACLs, VPN, PrivateLink, load balancers, DNS, firewalls.
• Support containerization and modernization using Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Fargate, ECR, Lambda, API Gateway, microservices.
• Automate infrastructure and migration activities using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Manage CI/CD and observability with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CodePipeline, Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Provide technical leadership across AWS architecture, security, IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, DR, HA, RTO/RPO, 7R migration strategy.
