Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Cloud Fullstack Engineer to help maintain and evolve critical services with a focus on security and stability.

You will work within IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, collaborating across product, platform, and support teams to deliver reliable cloud-based solutions for global clients. The role emphasizes incident management, change control, and documentation, with hybrid work arrangements in the Boston area.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate testing (UAT, functional, security).
  • Maintain documentation for backup, security, data protection.
  • Monitor service performance against SLAs and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate across product, platform, and support teams.

Job description

We are looking for a Cloud Fullstack Engineer profiles to support the stability, security, maintenance, and evolution of business-critical services.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

Implement service strategy and maintain regular coordination with system owners and stakeholders jointly with the CLIENT

Ensure functional, operational, security, and architectural needs are reflected in release plans

Support major incident resolution and act as an escalation point for Service Desk and Command Centre

Act as default approver in Change Management and support change assessment, authorization, scheduling, and release implementation

Coordinate security, personal data protection, and compliance activities

Maintain documentation for backup/restore, security, and data protection procedures

Ensure confidential data flows are identified and documented where applicable

Be accountable for annual DR, penetration, and backup/restore testing

Approve access requests via IGAM/IAM and manage roles, entitlements, and developer accounts

Coordinate UAT, functional, technical, and security testing

Maintain COTS catalogue information, including vendor and product details

Handle maintenance, upgrades, patching, version management, and decommissioning

Monitor service performance against SLA targets and contribute to capacity planning

Conduct service review meetings with customers

Facilitate collaboration across product, platform, and support teams

Communicate changes and operational activities with the IT Service Desk

Engage with Product Owners and help remove cross-team impediments

Good understanding of incident, problem, change, release, access, and service management processes (SMAXX is used within client environment)

Experience with security, compliance, testing, patching, and operational documentation

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Proficiency in Additional Frameworks: Knowledge of Quarkus, Django, or Express Js frameworks is beneficial for developing scalable and resilient backend microservices.
  • Experience with Multiple Runtimes: Familiarity with multiple runtimes such as GraalVM, .Net, in addition to Java, NodeJS, or Python, can be advantageous in cloud-native application development.
  • Knowledge of AWS Specialized Services: Experience with AWS services like ROSA, AWS MQ, AWS MSKafka, or Tekton can be valuable in designing and developing scalable, resilient, and cloud-native applications.
