Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Datacenter Consolidation and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program. The role involves Tier 3 support for the DHS Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) biometric system, including system installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. This is a telework position requiring residence and work within the United States, with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm EST, and on-call availability approximately 4-6 times a year.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Develop, document, communicate, and enforce network technology policies.
• Install and configure software and hardware, including servers, network devices, and firewalls.
• Monitor system performance and storage utilization.
• Plan hardware/software upgrades to support growth.
• Manage user accounts, assets, and security permissions.
• Support escalated help desk requests and perform system administrator activities.
• Review logs, troubleshoot issues, and document root causes and resolutions.
• Support Active Directory/LDAP, certificate services, network communications, group policy, and security compliance.
• Provide Tier III support for incidents and problems.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet project objectives.
• Provide on-call support approximately 4-6 weeks per year.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma with 6 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government clearance (DHS EOD clearance required prior to start).
• 5 years of IT experience.
• Experience administering Windows systems in a cloud environment.
• Experience with AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud systems administration experience; AWS certifications preferred.
• Experience with CyberArk, RHEL, open-source technologies, OpenShift, Splunk, Ansible, Jenkins, and JFrog.

Program Technologies:

• AWS GovCloud, RedHat OpenShift, Ansible, Docker, Aurora AWS (PostgreSQL), GitLab, Jenkins, CyberArk, Splunk, SonarQube.
