Job summary

Connsci, LLC is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to provide engineering, administration, and operational support for a hybrid cloud environment that uses AWS GovCloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will help with cloud modernization, automation, cybersecurity, and enterprise operations to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable computing environments.

You will design scalable IT infrastructure, implement firewall rules, manage on-prem switches, and automate routine tasks using PowerShell/Bash

Qualifications

• BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a US Department of Education accredited University is required.
• At least 3 years of experience as a cloud engineer with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• At least 3 years of experience with Active Directory.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting Windows Server.
• Current Certifications: CompTIA Security+ and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent AWS certification.
• Current Top Secret, DOE Q, or Public Trust High Risk Tier 4 clearance.
• 3+ years of experience administering virtualized environments and enterprise infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• 3+ years of enterprise networking experience: DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, firewall.
• 1+ year of experience with Linux OS.
• Experience supporting Federal Government cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience with cybersecurity compliance, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and ATO activities.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, deploy, secure, and administer cloud resources, VMs, storage, and networks in a hybrid cloud.
• Design scalable infrastructure for IT projects, including cloud migration and optimization to cut costs.
• Assess and configure firewall rules and proxies for secure connectivity between networks.
• Manage on-premises switches and maintain hybrid network design.
• Create automated jobs and scripts (CLI, PowerShell/Bash) and leverage CI/CD for deployments.
• Monitor cloud consumption and security posture, identifying inefficiencies and cost savings.
• Perform routine system maintenance and security patching for VMs and hardware.
• Coordinate with system owners across divisions and escalate tickets as needed.
• Develop and maintain IT solutions and code, plus update technical docs and security artifacts.
• Modify AD domains, groups, and policies to maintain security posture.
• Provide input on policies and conduct internal technical reviews to improve performance.
• Develop SOPs, knowledge base, and technical bulletins to support the office.
• Monitor security baseline and health using enterprise tools; report status regularly.
• Ensure routine backups of VMs and storage using AWS architecture.
