Job summary

Gridiron IT seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Developer in the Washington, DC area to lead cloud migrations and modernization efforts. The role focuses on hands-on AWS engineering, microservices, containers, serverless, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code to advance client cloud platforms.

You will design, implement, and optimize AWS environments, mentor teams, and help establish security and automation standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Hands-on AWS engineering experience required.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Developer to lead cloud migrations and application modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, microservices, containers, serverless technologies, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute cloud migrations including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting.
• Modernize applications through microservices, containerization, and serverless architectures.
• Design and manage AWS environments using EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudFormation/CDK.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Terraform, AWS CDK, CodePipeline, and related tools.
• Work closely with customer teams to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer.
• Help establish cloud best practices, automation, security, and operational standards.

Required:

Active TS/SCI clearance and strong hands-on AWS engineering experience.

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI CI Poly is required.

Salary Range:

$180,000-$260,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, education, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
