Peraton is seeking a motivated AWS Cloud Engineer to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of data-driven platforms. You will support day-to-day customer applications, maintain infrastructure, monitor systems, and resolve incidents while automating to improve efficiency.

You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable AWS solutions, following best practices and ensuring compliance. Remote position within the United States.

Qualificações

• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment credit check as required by Customer.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience; Master's with 6+ years or high school diploma/equivalent with 12+ years of experience.
• Deep knowledge of AWS architecture, networking (VPCs, routing), security (IAM, Resource Policies, encryption), serverless/microservices, and containerization (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• Experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale delivery.
• Hands-on experience with SaaS logs monitoring/troubleshooting.
• Strong scripting in Python and Bash; Ansible is a plus.
• Proficient in configuration management, observability (CloudWatch, Grafana), reliability and disaster recovery; cloud engineering automation (Terraform, Python, GitLab CI) for AWS workloads.
• Strong Git proficiency and branching/release strategies (GitFlow).

Responsabilidades

• Design and build AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
• Guide design decisions for cloud solutions and deployment strategies; influence stakeholders.
• Own automation end-to-end from IaC authorship to production operations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to observability/monitoring practices.
• Provide technical support to AWS users and managed services.
• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Monitor AWS environments, troubleshoot incidents; resolve performance issues.
• Collaborate with development, security, and infra teams to improve reliability and follow best practices.
• Maintain diagrams and SOPs for all environments.
• Perform backups, upgrades, and maintenance in maintenance windows.
• Monitor for security vulnerabilities and perform ad-hoc upgrades.
• Support audits by providing logs, reports, and system configurations.
• Manage AWS IAM roles, policies, and access controls for secure cloud environments.

Basic Qualifications

• Hands-on experience monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting SaaS application logs
• Strong scripting skills Python and Bash, Ansible experience is plus
• Proficient in configuration management, observability (CloudWatch, Grafana), reliability, and disaster recovery practices. Proficient in the design, development, build, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance cloud engineering processes using automation tooling (e.g.,Terraform, Python, GitLab CI) for AWS workloads
• Strong Git proficiency, including common branching/release strategies (GitFlow, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Runners, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation
• Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript/Node.js or other scripting languages to automate, troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and resolving high-priority incidents in large, multi-tenant environments.
• Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment.
• Experience working in an Agile environment

Peraton is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AWS Cloud Engineer to join our Team, becoming responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of critical platforms that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This person will provide day-to-day customer application support, maintain infrastructure, monitor systems, resolve incidents, while implementing automation to improve operational efficiency. They will also collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver secure, scalable solutions.

This role requires strong AWS DevOps expertise, application support experience, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to optimizing our analytics infrastructure.

What You Will Do:

• Design and build AWS cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)
• Guide ADTs on cloud solution patterns, deployment strategies, and architecture decisions; able to influence design choices and align stakeholders
• Own automation end-to-end; from IaC authorship to pipeline design to production operations
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to observability/monitoring practices

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Perform backups, regularly scheduled upgrades and maintenance activities during the maintenance window
• Monitor for security vulnerabilities and perform ad-hoc upgrades and maintenance as required
• Support audit activities by providing logs, reports, and system configurations
• Manage and support AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), including roles, policies, permissions, and access controls, to maintain secure and compliant cloud environments.
