Job summary

ASSYST, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Cloud Data Migration Engineer to support a client project. The role is three days remote with two onsite days Mon and Thu at the stated location.

The engineer will migrate Oracle workloads to AWS using DMS, design cloud infrastructure, implement IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, and automate processes with Python or PowerShell, all within a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Experience migrating Oracle workloads to AWS using DMS.
• Strong AWS infrastructure, networking, and security groups.
• Automation skills in Python/Bash/PowerShell.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data migration planning.
• Hybrid cloud/on-premises modernization experience.

Responsibilities

• Migrate Oracle databases to AWS using DMS with full-load and CDC.
• Design and implement AWS infrastructure, VPCs, subnets, IAM, Lambda.
• Develop IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Script automation of migration tasks using Python/Bash/PowerShell.
• Coordinate cutover and rollback plans minimizing downtime.
• Collaborate with on-site and remote teams in a hybrid cloud environment.
