Job summary

DNI (Delaware Nation Industries) seeks a Data Engineer to design and optimize cloud-native data pipelines supporting JWAC analytics and AI/ML workloads. The role emphasizes secure data handling, DoD-aligned controls, and integration of data sources for model training and inference.

You will work onsite at JWAC in Dahlgren, VA, supporting a TS/SCI/SAP environment. The position requires collaboration with government stakeholders and cloud engineers to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of full-time experience in data engineering or data science, with hands-on lifecycle experience.
• Experience designing/cloud-native data solutions on AWS and data warehouses like Redshift or Athena.
• Experience with data preparation, feature engineering, and model-ready datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end cloud-native data pipelines on AWS.
• Ingest, transform, validate, publish, and manage data lifecycles across sources.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data for analytics and ML workflows.
• Develop data architectures and stores to support analytics, training, and real-time inference.
• Create REST APIs and services to expose data to JWAC apps and analytics systems.
• Support AI/ML infrastructure including model hosting and RAG/LMM integration.
• Implement monitoring, automation, and self-healing using AWS tools.
• Apply FinOps, cost tracking, and security controls across data environments.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, data scientists, and cloud engineers.
