Job summary

Lorven Technologies, Inc. is seeking an AWS Cloud Architect in Alameda, CA to provide technical direction for Cloud/Platform Engineering, driving automation and secure cloud platform design.

The role focuses on scalable AWS environments, governance, and operational excellence across teams. You will guide architectural decisions, implement container platforms with EKS/ECS, and lead automation with Terraform, CloudFormation and Ansible.

Qualifications

• 15 years of overall experience with 8+ years in Cloud/AWS Engineering & Architecture, Platform Engineering and DevOps
• 7+ years in EKS/ECS and containerized workloads, CloudFormation, Terraform/IaC, Ansible, developing reusable modules
• 7+ years in EC2, ASG, AMI creation, ECR, S3, Lambda, IAM, SSM/Systems Manager, AWS Control Tower, Cognito, Route 53, and Secrets Manager
• Strong understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework, particularly Security and Cost Optimization

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical direction and guidance to the Cloud Engineering team
• Define and drive Platform Engineering goals, standards, and best practices
• Design and implement container platforms using Amazon EKS and ECS; Configure Route 53 for domain and DNS management
• Deploy and configure ECS/ECR and support containerized application workloads
• Design and configure AWS Systems Manager (SSM) for operational management and automation
• Design and manage EC2, Auto Scaling Groups and custom AMIs with security/monitoring agents
• Work with AWS Control Tower to establish and maintain governed AWS environments
• Implement Cognito for application authentication and identity requirements
• Implement AWS Secrets Manager for secure credential management and automated secret rotation
• Design advanced S3 configurations including lifecycle, bucket policies, retention and access controls
• Develop AWS Lambda solutions for automation and metrics collection
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules for provisioning AWS services
• Use Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or similar IaC to build and manage cloud platforms
• Apply AWS Well-Architected principles with emphasis on Security and Cost Optimization
• Identify toil and define automation opportunities to improve efficiency
• Partner with client technical teams to translate requirements into cloud architecture
• Review existing cloud environments and recommend improvements in architecture and cost
• Provide technical guidance during implementation, troubleshooting and operations
• Mentor engineers and manage stakeholders

AWS Cloud Architect

We are hiring Cloud Architect for providing technical direction to the Cloud Engineering/Platform Engineering team, defining platform engineering goals, driving automation and operational excellence, and working closely with the client technical team to design, implement, and continuously improve AWS Cloud platforms. This role provides technical leadership and direction for the AWS Cloud Engineering/Platform Engineering function. The architect will help establish scalable and secure cloud platforms, improve operational efficiency through automation, reduce manual toil, and align cloud engineering capabilities with client business and technology requirements.

• Provide day-to-day technical direction and guidance to the Cloud Engineering team

• Partner with the client’s technical teams to understand requirements and provide cloud architecture and platform engineering direction

• Provide technical guidance during implementation, troubleshooting and production operations.
