Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead the assessment, planning, design, and execution of large-scale cloud migrations from on-premises to AWS.

You will define migration roadmaps, select patterns, design landing zones, coordinate with multiple teams, and provide hands-on guidance on AWS services while ensuring security, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and migration.
• Experience with AWS migration patterns and large-scale deployments.
• Strong understanding of security, governance, and cost optimization in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, planning, design, and execution of AWS migrations from on-premises or existing environments to AWS.
• Define the AWS migration roadmap including discovery, dependency mapping, wave planning, cutover, and rollback procedures.
• Recommend migration patterns (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, retain, repurchase) based on business value and technical feasibility.
• Design secure, scalable AWS landing zones and target architectures.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, security, network, and business teams to align migration with priorities.
• Provide hands-on guidance for AWS services (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, backup, DR, security).
• Support IaC and DevOps practices to enable repeatable cloud deployments.
• Identify risks, dependencies, performance issues, security gaps, and cost optimization opportunities during migration lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership during migration execution, testing, cutover, post-migration validation, and hypercare.
