Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care and support to individuals in a residential setting. The DSP will help with daily living activities, build relationships, and promote independence in a home environment.

There are part-time and full-time shifts, including Awake Overnights. A $3,000 hiring bonus is offered, with potential wage increases after six months of consistent employment. Training is provided to new hires.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Must pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities: personal care, hygiene, meals, housing/cleaning, transportation.
• Support community involvement and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights, needs, and preferences of people served.
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and meetings.

Pay:

• $17.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!
• $3000 Hiring Bonus!*

Shifts:

• A variety of Part-time and Full-time shift available
• Awake Overnights

What You'll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings

Work Environment:

• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
