Job summary

Advocates is seeking Awake Overnight Direct Support Staff to provide hands-on support during the third shift. The role focuses on keeping individuals secure, healthy, and engaged overnight, with duties including monitoring, assisting with morning routines, transporting to day programs, and documenting observations.

A high school diploma or GED is required; CPR/First Aid and other certifications must be maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to stay awake and alert overnight.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to transport individuals.

Responsibilities

• Remain awake, alert, and responsive throughout the overnight shift.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Assist with morning routines (hygiene, clothing, meals, and preparation for day programs).
• Provide transportation to day programs as needed.
• Support household cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Implement established treatment and support plans.
• Conduct and participate in safety drills, including fire drills and evacuations.
• Report health, behavioral, or psychiatric concerns to on-call staff.
• Complete accurate documentation, including shift notes and behavioral observations.
• Provide physical intervention in crisis situations when necessary.
• Maintain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, MAP, SOLVE, HR/DPPC).
• Ensure individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and in alignment with Human Rights policies.
