AmeriHome Mortgage, a Western Alliance Bank company, seeks an AVP, Trader to join the Capital Markets trading desk in Westlake Village, CA. You will contribute to hedging, pool auctions, and whole loan trading for the agency pipeline, learning best practices from seasoned professionals.

The ideal candidate has mortgage capital markets experience or an advanced degree, strong analytical skills, and advanced Excel/SQL abilities to support execution strategies and desk workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in Residential Mortgage Lending, Capital Markets or similar field, or 1+ years of related experience with an advanced degree (MBA/Master in Finance).
• Intermediate knowledge of residential mortgage industry and regulatory obligations.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical and operational support for trading desk activities, including agency mortgage pipeline hedging.
• Assist with pool auction processes and evaluate execution opportunities.
• Assist with whole loan trade execution and desk workflows.
• Monitor specified pool MBS markets and relative value opportunities.
• Assist with pooling activities and agency delivery execution.
• Partner with operations to resolve pooling, delivery, or trading issues.
• Confirm trades and maintain trade blotter records.

This fast-paced environment offers direct exposure to seasoned capital markets professionals and the opportunity to learn best practices across hedging, MBS sales, pooling, and whole loan trading for AmeriHome’s agency pipeline. The ideal candidate will bring mortgage capital markets experience, strong analytical skills, or an advanced financial degree such as a master’s in finance or an MBA.
