Job summary

Whittier Trust, the West Coast-based multi-family office, seeks an experienced accounting professional to own entity closes, prepare GAAP-compliant financials, and support tax filings for high-net-worth clients. You will collaborate with tax advisors, fund administrators, and external accountants to ensure precise reporting and timely deliverables.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting within family offices or trust environments, with strong Excel and QuickBooks Online skills and familiarity

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA preferred but not required.
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in family office/trust/public accounting.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; familiarity with alternative investments and K-1 reporting.

Responsibilities

Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per U.S. GAAP.
Own monthly and annual close for assigned entities with accurate financial statements.
Prepare and review financial statements and schedules for GAAP compliance.
Prepare annual filings including Form 1099 and property tax returns.
Communicate financial results to management and clients clearly.
