Job summary

Kennesaw State University seeks an Associate Vice President for Research Computing and Emerging Technologies to provide strategic leadership for technology services advancing the university's research mission. You will lead high-performance computing, data management, security, and emerging tech adoption, collaborating with faculty and external partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in Computational Science and Engineering, Scientific Computing, Computer Science, High-Performance Computing, or related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in research computing, IT, or related field.
• Ability to lead complex technology organizations and deliver scalable solutions in higher education or similarly complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of institutional technology and research computing strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Partner with faculty and research leadership to understand needs and remove technology barriers.
• Advance secure research environments for regulated data and compliance requirements.
• Oversee research platforms such as HPC, cloud computing, data storage, analytics, and collaboration tools.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and translate into practical institutional capabilities.
• Build governance, standards, and sustainable funding for research technology services.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, infra, enterprise apps, sponsored programs and grants to implement solutions.
• Develop partnerships with vendors, peer institutions, consortia, and funding agencies.
• Measure impact through service adoption, researcher satisfaction, grant support, and compliance readiness.
