Job description

The Reference Data Services Team Coordinator is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership roles within teams. Involved in coaching and training new recruits. Has significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc., by influencing decisions through advice, counsel, and/or facilitating services to others in the area of specialization. The work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs cleansing and validating of corporate actions.
  2. Remediates data in the Clients and Security Coding systems.
  3. Performs trend analysis and identifies root causes, implementing or suggesting solutions based on the analysis.
  4. Liaises with other teams globally to ensure data quality is remediated.
  5. Provides a high level of customer service to internal stakeholders.
  6. Owns ad-hoc projects from inception through to completion.
  7. Provides tangible metrics to Management.
  8. Responsible for opening and maintaining customer sub-accounts or product pricing setups, ensuring customer/product data details and settlement instructions across various systems remain up to date.
  9. Appropriately assesses risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 11 to 13 years of experience, including at least 5 years managing Corporate Actions processing.
  • 5 to 6 years of experience in people management.
  • Requires expertise in Corporate Actions.
  • Well-developed management skills and relevant experience managing operational functions.
  • Deep knowledge of various event type setups, market nuances within global regions (APAC/EMEA/MENA/NAM), and multiple asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Fund of Funds, OTC & exchange-traded derivatives) is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Corporate Action operations within Asset Management, Custody, or Private Banking is essential.

  • Bachelor’s/University degree.
