Job summary

RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty, is seeking an AVP Property Claims to lead the Claims Advocacy and Insight team. You will serve as a subject-matter expert on Ryan Specialty coverage and manage claims to achieve positive outcomes for assigned clients, drafting coherent responses to coverage rebuttal letters.

You will develop relationships with carriers and brokers, stay updated on claims and coverage developments, and contribute strategic direction for long-term business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required along with 8+ years of Commercial Property claims experience.
• Must have previous insurance carrier experience with high dollar/“severe” property claims.
• Experience in Inland Marine and Ocean Marine claims a plus.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to develop, analyze, and implement strategies with a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Counsel brokers and retail partners on coverage and claims-related issues.

• Advise on policy wording solutions for recurring coverage issues.
• Develop relationships both with the carriers and with our brokers facilitating the ability be a credible resource and spokesperson on coverage and claims-related issues.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The AVP Property Claims will be part of the Claims Advocacy and Insight team and will work closely with Claims and Operations department. This role will be the subject matter expert on Ryan Specialty coverage and accurately manage claims to achieve positive outcomes for assigned clients. This role will develop and produce coherent and comprehensive writing responses to coverage rebuttal position letters.

The target salary range for this position is $112,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
