Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. is seeking an AVP PM Analyst to support and execute software and vehicle programs.

You will work across engineering teams to define objectives, manage budgets, and drive program milestones in a fast-paced automotive setting. The role emphasizes problem solving, data analysis, and effective communication with stakeholders, with up to 25% travel both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline.
  • Vehicle development program management experience, including launches from concept to production if possible.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define objectives, deliverables, KPIs, and project plans.
  • Lead problem-solving activities to address engineering challenges using benchmarking, business case analysis, and market insights.
  • Drive alignment across organizations and develop a unified approach to program issues, features, and specs.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate development activities across engineering functions and manage program milestones.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and forecasting to meet financial targets.
  • Support NA assembly plants during pre-launch vehicle quality audits.
  • Communicate status and milestones to stakeholders through regular updates.
  • Prepare presentations and reports on program status and insights for management.
  • Develop and implement PM processes and tools to improve efficiency.
  • Stay informed on industry trends to drive innovation.
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Overview

As an AVP Program Management (PM) Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting and executing our company's software and technology for vehicle programs and projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the automotive industry, vehicle software, program management, problem solving, data analysis, and driving organizational success. The AVP PM Analyst is an individual contributor role, meaning no management responsibility for direct reports.

What you will do
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define program objectives, deliverables, and KPIs, and establish clear project plans and timelines
  • Lead problem-solving activities to find solutions to engineering challenges; leverage competitive benchmarking, business case analysis, cost and weight initiatives, and market and customer analysis
  • Drive alignment across organizations; develop a one-voice agreement on program issues, features, and specs. critical to program viability, NA consumer needs, and market success
  • Monitor program progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery and achievement of program goals
  • Coordinate development activities across engineering functions and lead programs through key program milestones
  • Manage program budgets, resource allocation, and forecasting activities, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to financial targets
  • Support NA assembly plants during pre-launch vehicle quality assurance audits
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular updates on program status, milestones, and key deliverables
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to communicate program status, milestones, and key insights to management
  • Assist in the development and implementation of program management processes and process improvements, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in program management, and leverage knowledge to drive innovation and improvement
  • Travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What you will bring to the role
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline
  • Vehicle development program management experience
    • Experience with vehicle program launches (from concept to production), preferred
  • Experience in defining and managing the scope, timing, and resources of vehicle-related projects
  • Strong analytical skills
    • An ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Adept in Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
    • An ability to prepare reports/spreadsheets (when needed) to support project-related work
  • Knowledge of industry best practices concerning program management and project execution
  • Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
