Job summary

Allied World seeks an AVP for the North American Programs Division in Farmington, CT (preferred) with openness to other major cities. The role steers underwriting for a portion of AW's Program P&C business, focusing on profitability, pricing, and compliance while marketing and servicing existing and potential clients.

Core duties include managing the program, evaluating referrals, budgeting, and driving profitability, with liaison to Claims and ensuring adherence to guidelines.

Qualifications

• College Degree required.
• Minimum of 8-12 years underwriting experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi task.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Program assigned to, including underwriting referrals, pricing analysis, audits, PML and aggregation monitoring.
• Evaluate referrals by analyzing coverage, exposures and pricing.
• Set and meet budgeted premiums for the assigned Program.
• Strive for profitability on the assigned Program.
• Liaise with Claims on claims activity affecting profitability and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Attend client/broker meetings and assist in vetting new Program opportunities.
• Attend training sessions and assist with special projects under management supervision.
• Follow treaty and facultative reinsurance protocols and stay current with industry developments.
