Job summary

State Street is seeking a financial operations professional to manage market data, vendor invoices, governance, and reconciliation within the Optimize Spend (FITS) framework. You will partner with procurement, finance, and stakeholders to drive accuracy, transparency, and process improvements.

The role requires a strong data mindset, Excel expertise, and experience with market data platforms. Boston-area applicants preferred with a focus on governance and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, business, economics or related field.
• 5+ years in market data, procurement, vendor management, financial operations, sourcing, or finance in financial services.
• Experience managing market data vendor invoices, contract reconciliation, spend reporting, governance and controls.
• Hands-on experience with Optimize Spend (FITS) or similar inventories/expense platforms.
• Strong ability to analyze large datasets, perform reconciliations, and provide actionable insights.
• Excel expertise including pivot tables, formulas, data analysis and reporting; familiarity with Access/Power BI/Tableau preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplier, contract, and market data inventory records within Optimize Spend (FITS).
• Perform data quality reviews of FITS records and resolve missing or inaccurate information.
• Generate and analyze reports from FITS to support spend reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve FITS processes, reporting, and data management via automation and standardization.
• Manage end-to-end invoice reconciliation, ensuring invoices align with contracts and supporting docs.
• Maintain ownership of billing accounts and drive timely reconciliation activities.
• Prepare and review invoice walks and reconciliation packages for approval and payment.
• Track and support Financial Case governance, documenting savings initiatives.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Account Management, vendors and partners to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency.
• Assist with project work, remediation, and other initiatives.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
