The AVP, Investment Analytics will work on a variety of special projects, including: structured credit / private credit modeling, strategic capital optimization initiatives, and asset projections for the company’s long-term plan. This position will report directly to the SVP, Head of Investment Analytics and will work with partners both within the investment team and matrix partners in actuarial, capital management, and finance.This role will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do:

Develop, maintain and run various models and post processes for the investment team, actuaries and capital groups.

Contribute to BMA regulatory memos and analysis, demonstrating innovation in our approach and effectively dealing with complexity.

Continually improve controls and enhancements to streamline all processes and procedures

Take complex problems the Investment’s team or other groups face and find stop-gap short term solutions as well as long term strategic plans for implementation

Coordinate directly with Investments IT to help build, maintain and enhance existing and new processes and workflows for added efficiencies and adapting controls for the many processes the team maintains

Manage and coordinate both planned production processes as well as all ad-hoc and time sensitive requests in a timely manner

Leverage team members and coordinate with investment analytics members and outside groups to effectively manage processes, answer questions and inquiries, and produce required deliverables

Generate various control reviews for reviews and approvals for senior management and other various internal groups

Work with different hedging groups to ensure daily, monthly and any other relevant data is provided in a timely manner and raise any issues to relevant parties

Direct and lead the individuals within the Investment IT to design and build the necessary processes and tools needed to accomplish the tasks required of the team

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Knowledge of fixed income modeling

CFA or FSA preferred

7+ years of experience in investments/portfolio management or Investments Operations roles

Strong analytical capabilities.

Proficiency in Python and SQL is required.

Knowledge of Bloomberg and advanced Excel skills is required.

Experience with Factset, Aladdin and Intex is a plus.

Experience working at a (re)insurer is a plus.

  • Prior experience with private credit, structured credit, esoteric asset classes, and whole loans is a plus.

Very strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas and processes.

Presence and credibility to present effectively to key senior management.

Ability to direct and lead other members of the team.

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Base Salary Range: $175,000 USD - $200,000 USD
