Job Details

The Assistance Vice President (AVP) of Indirect, Capital & Construction is responsible for oversight the sourcing strategies for indirect spend, capital acquisitions, and construction projects within Jefferson - LVHN. This role ensures cost-effective procurement while aligning with the organization's strategic objectives and operational needs. The AVP will collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive economic savings, business risk mitigation and operational efficiency.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and sets high-level sourcing and procurement strategies for Indirect, Capital & Construction for the entire system.
  • Align sourcing initiatives with overall health system goals, cost reduction efforts, and operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinates opportunities with Jefferson's group purchasing and aggregation group in order to maximize economic value and administrative fees for the organization.
  • Collaborates with Facilities and Construction for the purpose of establishing overall product and commodity standards.

Policies and procedures:

  • Establishes policies and high-level strategies for Capital, Indirect and Construction sourcing.

Vendor and contract management:

  • Lead vendor and supplier negotiations at the highest levels within Capital, Indirect and Construction, ensuring partnerships that drive financial and service benefits.
  • Manage executive relationships with vendor partners, lead high level strategic growth and partnership opportunities with key suppliers.
  • Represents the organization in industry-wide source.ng collaborations, present overall goal with vendor partners relating to sourcing initiatives.

Market analysis and trend monitoring:

  • Stays abreast of market trends
  • Oversee sourcing risk management, regulatory compliance, and ethical sourcing practices.

Cross-functional collaboration:

  • Collaborate with C-suite executives (CFO, COO, CMO) and physician chairs to integrate sourcing strategies with broader financial and operational plans.

Financial and operational performance:

  • Develops and sets financial and operational performance targets at the system level

Leadership & team development:

  • Manage teams of Directors and Managers, providing leadership and setting long-term objectives

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in healthcare administration, business, or related field.

AND / OR

Experience:

10+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement, with a focus on capital and construction. (equivalent experience acceptable)

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) from the Institute for Supply Management, Inc. or a CMRP certification from the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management of the American Hospital Association preferred but not a requirement.
