Position Overview

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager serves as a strategic finance partner responsible for the Company's budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, Board reporting, and management reporting processes. This position provides analytical support for executive decision-making across earnings performance, capital planning, treasury activities, investment portfolio management, interest rate risk, and strategic growth initiatives. The role supports external financial reporting, quarterly earnings releases, and CECL-related analytics while partnering with management to deliver meaningful financial insights. Success in this position requires strong financial acumen, advanced analytical and modeling capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to senior management.

This is an on-site position that may be based at any of our locations and requires a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office.

Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Collaborate with the Director of FP&A to lead the Company's annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycle, and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis and provide insights into key drivers impacting financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting balance sheet growth, earnings performance, capital management, liquidity planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support executive management's strategic and operational decision-making processes.
  • Lead and support special projects as assigned.
Board & Management Reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for the Board of Directors.
  • Develop reporting and analytical materials for executive management.
  • Communicate financial results, trends, and key performance indicators in a clear and concise manner.
Treasury, Investments & Risk Analytics
  • Support Treasury management activities, including liquidity monitoring, investment portfolio analytics, and capital planning initiatives.
  • Perform investment portfolio pre-purchase analyses for investment securities.
  • Perform initial and periodic credit reviews of the investment portfolio, including municipal and corporate bonds, and document findings.
  • Oversee the pledged loan data transfer supporting borrowing lines with correspondent banks, including the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) and Federal Reserve Bank (FRB).
  • Assist in the preparation, validation, and reporting of interest rate risk modeling.
  • Support analysis related to balance sheet management, interest rate risk, capital adequacy, and liquidity planning initiatives.
Financial & Regulatory Reporting
  • Support quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, including preparation of selected footnotes, supporting schedules, and disclosures included in Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly earnings releases, investor presentation materials, earnings call support schedules, and related financial analyses.
  • Prepare supporting analyses and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
  • Support regulatory, external audit, and internal audit requests as needed.
CECL & Credit Analytics Support
  • Support the SVP, Credit Analytics Manager in the preparation, validation, reconciliation, and documentation of the Bank's Allowance for Credit Losses on Loans under the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) accounting standard.
  • Assist with maintaining supporting schedules, assumptions, and documentation related to CECL reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in reconciliation and validation activities to support accurate financial and regulatory reporting.
Process Improvement & Data Analytics
  • Utilize advanced analytical and automation tools, including Python, SQL, Power Query, and Excel, to streamline reporting processes, improve data quality, and enhance forecasting and analytical capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, data integrity, and financial analysis processes.
  • Support the development and enhancement of reporting tools, models, and analytical frameworks.
Quality Control, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with established accounting, financial reporting, and internal control standards.
  • Support internal control processes and documentation, including activities related to a SOX/public company environment.
  • Assist with audit and examination preparation by providing requested analyses, documentation, and reporting support.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices impacting financial planning and analysis activities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned that are consistent with the business needs of the Bank and the scope, responsibilities, and level of the role.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Manager, or in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial accounting and regulatory reporting concepts.
  • Working knowledge of bank treasury, asset/liability management, investment portfolio analytics, CECL, and interest rate risk management concepts.
  • Experience preparing Board and executive management reporting packages within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Experience supporting SEC reporting activities, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings releases, and investor reporting preferred.
  • Experience utilizing advanced analytical and reporting tools to support forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Sound understanding of internal controls, particularly within a SOX/public company environment.
  • Experience with Cognos reporting tools preferred.
  • Demonstrated success utilizing AI-enabled tools in the financial planning and analysis process preferred.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA designation highly preferred.
Requisite Skills
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling and Power Query.
  • Experience with Python for data analysis, process automation, and reporting enhancement.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and operate numerous software applications related to the function.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write precisely and concisely.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and process improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.
