Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst

The Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst position is responsible for the financial reporting of the Company, to include production of internal and external financial reports for regulatory, board and shareholder benefit, maintenance of an adequate system of financial reporting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the bank's reported financial results.

Duties & Responsibilities: The position of Financial Planning and Reporting Analyst is responsible for performing routine and intermediate duties related to planning and financial reporting for the Finance Department. Supports Controller and CFO in all financial functions with emphasis on planning, financial reporting, and taxes.

  • Processes and maintains annual budget and reforecasting projections; including collaborations with department managers and executives for strategic campaigns
  • Prepares the monthly financials, board presentations, and quarterly press releases
  • Loads monthly data and reconciles balances for financial planning and reporting software
  • Assists with actual-to-budget variance analyses
  • Assists with preparation of annual report and proxy statement
  • Assist with preparation of financial regulatory reports including FFIEC quarterly call report, FRY9SP, FRY6, FRY10 and Summary of Deposits
  • Conducts tax projections, monthly provision, deferred tax asset calculation, and assists with tax related accruals and payments
  • Works with outside tax preparers to gather documentation for estimated tax payments and annual tax returns and ensure accuracy
  • Assist with daily, monthly, and quarterly account reconciliation reviews
  • Assists in gathering annual audit related documents
  • Supports treasury functions; including cash management, investment activity, and liquidity projections
  • Provides full support to Finance Team

  • Complies with all bank policies and procedures and all applicable government regulations including, but not limited to BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations, staying current and knowledgeable of all policies, procedures and regulations related to the job functions and completing all assigned training on time, requesting additional training as needed to be proficient in all job responsibilities; cooperating with internal and external auditors and bank examiners by providing full cooperation & timely delivery of requested documentation and information; and reporting concerns about compliance to the Compliance Officer to enable prompt remediation.
  • Complies with Bank policies and procedures relating to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Anti Money Laundering (AML) & Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) guidance. Report suspicious activity to the BSA Department through a Suspicious Incident Report (SIR).
  • Adheres to privacy and information security policies & ensure all sensitive internal and external customer information is properly secured & safeguarded. Use secure methods delivering client & or confidential data by email.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • Intermediate level of work experience, knowledge and training in finance activities & terminology. (BA or BS) in accounting and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training in one or more of the following fields: accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis.
  • Intermediate knowledge of related state & federal banking compliance regulations, & other Bank policies as applicable.
  • Ability to read, analyze & interpret reports, documents, technical procedures, & a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must be highly competent with advanced skills in computer operation; Microsoft suite of applications, including, word processing, spreadsheet, specialty programs, & financial software programs.
  • Intermediate to advanced typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Intermediate math skills; calculate interest, proportions, & percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply, & divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions & decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio & percent, including the drafting & interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Attention to detail, ensures accuracy in every transaction performed with minimal to no errors, follows through on any corrections.
  • High-level problem-solving skills, organizational & time management skills & ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task & work on multiple requests at the same time while effectively managing work schedule & workflow in order to complete work according to established or identified deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate thoughts clearly & apply common sense to carry out instructions, write reports & correspondence, speak clearly & professionally to customers & employees. Must be able to communicate throughout the organization & to all levels of staff as well as external contacts.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving multiple facets & variables in non-standardized situations.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which they are free to move about at will. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The position may include driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately 4% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements & moving mechanical parts.
