Job summary

AXIS is seeking a Senior Underwriter (AVP) for FI Complex Risk within its Retail Management Liability. This market-facing role focuses on complex Financial Institutions, both public and private, and requires strong broker relationships to originate and grow multi-line placements.

The candidate will underwrite and manage a portfolio of new and renewal FI Management Liability business, collaborating across teams. Hybrid work in Los Angeles or San Francisco is offered with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong broker relationships within the U.S. retail market.
• 7+ years underwriting Management Liability Complex Risk (D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, or related Financial Lines).
• Track record of managing and growing a profitable underwriting portfolio.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers to drive new business production.
• Manage a portfolio of new and renewal Financial Institutions Management Liability business.
• Analyze, evaluate, and underwrite complex FI risks, including public company exposures.
• Structure terms, conditions, limits, and pricing within delegated underwriting authority.
• Meet divisional service standards and maintain accurate underwriting files.
