Job summary

The Associate Vice President of Financial Aid at Thomas Jefferson University provides strategic leadership and management in the design and administration of aid programs across the University's enrollment portfolio.

This role partners with university leadership to align policies with institutional priorities while ensuring regulatory compliance, data-driven decision-making, and technology and operations optimization to deliver high-quality, student-centered services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum 10 years financial aid experience.
• At least 7 years in a management/leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the university’s financial aid expert, providing strategic leadership in a complex regulatory environment while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive financial aid strategy aligned with institutional priorities, establishing aid philosophy, goals, and objectives to support enrollment and student success.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, institutional, and regulatory requirements governing financial aid programs, including oversight of audits, reviews, corrective actions, and policy adherence.
• Direct the administration of financial aid operations, including awarding, disbursement, reconciliation, workflow management, and the effective use of technology to enhance service, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
• Lead and develop a high-performing financial aid team while promoting exceptional customer service, financial literacy programming, and student-centered support throughout the financial aid lifecycle.
