Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks an Associate Vice President, Engineering to lead Engineering, Energy Management, and Sustainability across all facilities. You will direct operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and capital planning for a complex portfolio, including Moses Campus cogeneration.

The role requires a strategic leader with extensive facilities management experience, strong financial acumen, and the ability to drive performance and safety across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• Active New York State Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive engineering and facilities management experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utility distribution, cogeneration, energy management, sustainability.
• Experience with budget development, capital planning, contracts, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Engineering, Energy Management, and Sustainability across Montefiore facilities.
• Oversee planning, operation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of building and utility systems.
• Ensure compliant operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and energy systems including Moses Campus cogeneration plant.
• Lead financial management of a $65 million operating budget and oversee asset data and maintenance planning.
• Chair governance committees, drive cost optimization, and guide capital investments and project delivery.
• Foster leadership development, performance management, and strong partnerships with clinical and external stakeholders.
