Job summary

Jonus Group, in New York, seeks an experienced AVP, D&O/EPL Claims to lead management of complex D&O and EPL claims, overseeing high-severity exposures and providing technical guidance to brokers, insureds, counsel, and internal partners.

The ideal candidate brings extensive D&O/EPL claims experience, strong coverage knowledge, and sharp analytical/negotiation skills to drive sound decisions on challenging matters. Bachelor's required; JD/CPCU/ARM a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of insurance claims experience with complex claims.
• Extensive experience with D&O and EPL claims.
• Strong knowledge of policy forms, coverage issues, and claim strategies.
• Experience handling high-severity and high-exposure claims.
• JD or CPCU/ARM is a plus; Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strategic direction and technical support to junior Financial Lines Claims professionals.
• Promote a collaborative, results-driven team culture.
• Coach and support team members in strengthening their technical expertise and professional capabilities.
• Spearhead process improvements designed to increase team productivity and overall performance.
• Manage the claims lifecycle from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assess and manage complex Financial Lines D&O and EPL claims, including duty-to-defend scenarios.
• Partner with Underwriting, brokers, and external specialists to investigate coverage, liability, and exposure.
• Analyze policy language, provisions, and conditions to support accurate claims decisions.
• Oversee reserve activity and assess settlement proposals to manage financial exposure.
