Job summary

Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union is seeking an Associate Vice President Credit Administration to manage non-exempt staff and oversee day-to-day credit administration for consumer lending. The role emphasizes policy compliance, staff development, and accurate loan processing.

Qualifications

  • This position requires NMLS registration, as defined within the provisions of the S.A.F.E. Act. All employees who will be engaged in residential mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE act requirements.
  • On an annual basis, completes all mandatory regulatory training as designated by the credit union.
  • 5-10 years credit administration experience, with minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and outlook e-mail.

Responsibilities

  • Assists SVP Credit Administration with interviewing and hiring, and the ongoing development of department employees.
  • Oversees underwriting and processing for all consumer loans.
  • Conducts ongoing training and calibration sessions for assigned staff to ensure department-wide understanding policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensures exceptional service levels to members/borrowers. Conducts and coordinates regular staff sales and service, and product knowledge training.
  • Promotes sales of ancillary products, services and programs related to consumer lending (GAP, Warranty, CL&D, etc.).
  • Conducts research to assist members in corrections/explanations of transactions on their accounts. Handles complaints and escalated matters.
  • Assists SVP Credit Administration in ongoing management of relationships with third party providers.
  • Ensures adequate staffing for incoming calls to provide exceptional member service and minimize abandonment rates.
  • Responsible for quality loan decisions and accurate documentation. Ensures loans are processed and ready for disbursal without delay.
  • Ensures that current loan policies and procedures are strictly adhered to and that any exceptions are within guidelines and properly documented.
  • Responsible for continuous coaching and mentoring of staff and the timely completion of annual employee performance evaluations and individual development plans.

Associate Vice President Credit Administration


Purpose:

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keeps abreast of general economic conditions that may impact lending, delinquency, and charge-offs.

  • Participates in credit union community events.

  • Understands and maintains strong knowledge of all lending regulations, such as ECOA, RegZ, the Fair Lending Act, SAFE Act, BSA, Red Flag, OFAC, and all other credit union regulations.

  • Performs other functions and projects as assigned by the SVP Credit Administration.

Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.


Other Special Skills and Abilities:



  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and outlook e-mail.

  • Proficient in other office equipment including phone, faxes, scanners, etc.

  • Must be an effective communicator and be able to work with all levels of staff and members.

  • Must have the ability to evaluate facts and make decisions.
