Job summary

Telhio Credit Union is seeking an experienced AVP of Collections and Special Assets in Columbus, OH. The role leads all consumer and commercial collection activities, portfolio recovery, and workout strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and member-focused outcomes.

The position requires a strong background in collections leadership, risk management, and collaboration with legal, lending, and risk teams to protect assets and serve members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in collections, special assets, credit administration, lending, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience.
• Experience managing consumer and commercial delinquency portfolios.
• Experience with commercial loan workouts, restructures, and recovery strategies.
• Strong working knowledge of bankruptcy, collateral liquidation, foreclosure, and repossession processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead consumer and commercial collection activities and develop strategies to reduce delinquency and losses.
• Oversee delinquency trends, cure rates, and workload segmentation; ensure compliant practices.
• Coordinate with legal and other teams on bankruptcy, litigation, and recovery.
• Develop borrower-specific workout strategies and monitor portfolio performance.
• Present workout and recovery recommendations to management and boards.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
