Job Description: Claims Team Leader - Casualty Claims Department

The Multinational team within the Casualty Claims Department provides specialized claim handling on behalf of Chubb’s Multinational customers in the U.S. and abroad. This people leader for a team of up to six adjusters will be responsible for delivering excellent financial and service results involving bodily injury and property damage claims under Automobile and General Liability (GL) policies, including Product, Premises, Completed Operations, and Employers Liability coverages on primary and excess policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist team members in developing and executing claim resolution strategies.
  • Train, develop, and manage a team of handlers by creating and implementing individual professional development plans for each team member.
  • Recognize significant potential exposures on claims and prepare appropriate alerts to senior management and internal business partners.
  • Conduct monthly self-audits of the team against Best Practices standards.
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external business partners.
  • Analyze coverage issues promptly and work with adjusters to communicate coverage positions.
  • Authorize reserves and settlements within your authority.
  • Monitor cases with significant financial impact and guide resolution strategies.
  • Ensure team members set reserves timely or make claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to management.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of claims management experience, handling complex casualty claims involving catastrophic injuries, property damage, and products liability on both primary and excess policies.
  • Experience with varied and complex general liability matters.
  • International claims handling experience is preferred.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with customers and partners.
  • Ability to make prompt, informed decisions based on detailed analysis of complex loss scenarios.
  • An advanced degree (JD or MBA) is preferred but not required.

The pay range for this role is $117,000 to $198,900, depending on skills and other factors. The role may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, details of which are available on our careers website. The disclosed pay range may be adjusted based on geographic location.
