Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP IAM AI Engineer in Fort Mill, SC to design, operationalize, and automate identity controls for both human and non-human actors. You will lead a team and embed identity, AuthN/AuthZ, and secrets handling into AI development from the outset.

You will build runtime controls, governance for AI agents, and secure secrets workflows while collaborating with engineering and data science teams to scale safe AI applications across the environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in identity & access management or information security, including hands-on engineering.
• Demonstrated experience building and/or leading technical teams.
• 5+ years with Ping Identity (PingFederate / PingOne / PingAccess) or a comparable access-management platform.
• 5+ years with SailPoint (IdentityIQ / Identity Security Cloud) or a comparable IGA platform.
• 3+ years with Idira (CyberArk, formerly Conjur) / HashiCorp Vault or a comparable secrets-management platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, operationalize, and automate identity controls for human and non-human identities, including real-time authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement.
• Build governance for AI agents and non-human identities across provisioning, rotation, attestation, and deprovisioning.
• Develop and automate secrets-management workflows for AI systems and workloads, including secret rotation and just-in-time credentials.
• Define and enforce least-privilege authorization models as policy-as-code.
• Establish reference architecture for identity flows: user-to-agent, agent-to-agent, and workload-to-service authentication and authorization.
• Partner with engineering and data science teams to embed IAM, AuthN/AuthZ, and secrets handling in AI development from the start.
• Support deployment of IAM controls for end users when needed.
• Integrate identity telemetry with SIEM/SOC and build anomaly detection for NHI/agent behavior.
