Munich Re US is seeking an experienced actuary to join the Life Reinsurance team as an Assistant Vice President (AVP) & Actuary specializing in Statutory Reporting in New York City. You will lead statutory reporting efforts, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with NAIC standards and internal controls.

The ideal candidate holds FSA/MAAA accreditation with 10+ years in actuarial roles, and demonstrates strong analytical, leadership and communication skills to mentor

Qualifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or MA-AA with strong background in life reinsurance/insurance.
• Minimum 10 years in actuarial roles with focus on statutory reporting.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements (NAIC and state regulations).
• Strong analytical, communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of statutory reports for the Appointed Actuary (e.g., Bluebook exhibits, Actuarial Memorandum).
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Accounting and Compliance to ensure timely reporting.
• Provide actuarial guidance to business leaders based on accurate data.
• Support deal teams evaluating new lines/structures for statutory implications.
