Job summary

Munich Re is seeking an experienced actuary to join the Life Reinsurance team in New York City as AVP & Actuary, specializing in Statutory Reporting. You will lead preparation of statutory reports, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure compliance with NAIC and state regulations.

The role requires FSA/MAAA credentials and 10+ years in statutory actuarial roles, with strong analytical and communication skills. Excellent project management and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Qualifications

FSA/MAAA with life reinsurance or insurance background.
10+ years actuarial experience focused on statutory reporting.
Deep knowledge of NAIC and state insurance regulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.
Able to balance technical work with business priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation of statutory reports for Appointed Actuary, including Bluebook exhibits and Actuarial Memorandum.
Collaborate with Actuarial, Accounting and Compliance to ensure timely reporting.
Provide actuarial guidance to business leaders based on accurate data.
Support deal teams evaluating new lines of business for statutory implications.
Recommend strategies to improve capital efficiency and reporting quality.
Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to improve processes.
Mentor junior team members and coordinate with auditors and peers.
