About the Role:

The primary responsibilities of the AVP, Actuary include pricing reinsurance contracts across varying insurance coverages and products and providing clients with continuous support throughout the (re)insurance lifecycle. Clients include growing numbers of MGAs, third-party capital providers, and traditional carriers, including regional, national, and multi-national specialty carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• The role involves contributing to the entire (re)insurance lifecycle for our clients and further building the Acrisure Re toolset. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Supporting brokers in creating reinsurance submissions, pricing and placing reinsurance, and evaluating new opportunities or partnerships.
• Handling multiple accounts and projects at a time and consistently meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Performing actuarial analysis to develop stochastic models, estimate reinsurance pricing, and evaluate and compare different reinsurance strategies to meet client objectives.
• Building relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, including understanding and interpreting client data, working on diverse value-add projects requiring actuarial expertise, presenting results from actuarial analysis and modeling clearly, and responding to technical questions regarding data, trends, and assumptions.
• Contributing to internal research, development projects, and whitepapers.

Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree, preferably with an actuarial science and/or STEM major
• 4 to 7 years of actuarial experience, preferably in a reinsurance pricing capacity
• ACAS (or close to ACAS credential) progress towards FCAS credential, or recent FCAS
• Strong understanding of standardized pricing and reserving methodologies for both casualty and property lines
• Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to various audiences, both internally and externally
• Understanding of US insurance regulations, statutory accounting principles, and risk transfer standards
• Self-motivated individual able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and contribute as part of a dynamic team
• Experience with catastrophe modelling (RMS, AIR, etc.) and pricing approaches a plus
• Familiarity in excel and R programming language
• Strong interpersonal skills
