GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Administrative/Business Services, the primary responsibilities of this position are providing quality member service. The position may be responsible for sourcing, scheduling and supervision of the member services staff. A general knowledge of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is required. The Member Services Supervisor assists with coordinating and overseeing all facets of the Member Service/Front Desk. The Supervisor is responsible for daily financial, membership and office transactions and should be able to resolve problems and elevate as necessary.

KNOW HOW
  • High School diploma, or its equivalent, is required (Associates Degree preferred) and/or two years related work experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age is required.
  • Background in customer service and computer processing preferred.
  • Experience in selecting, training and supervision is preferred.
  • Maturity and good judgment along with excellent interpersonal skills needed, as well as a high level of organization, tact and integrity.
  • Ability to manage diverse situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proven record of multi-tasking and cooperation with the ability to stay focused during detailed tasks.
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation and designated Member Service/Branch training, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
  • Administrative skills including ability to maintain and generate reports and statistical information.
