Job summary

SpaceX, Hawthorne-based, is seeking an Avionics Integration and Test Engineer (STARSHIELD) to own flight hardware screening and HASS operations, ensuring electrical systems meet requirements before launch.

You will write Python automation, troubleshoot test software, collaborate with design, quality, and production teams, and support continuous improvements to throughput and cost targets.

A Bachelor's in CE/EE/Physics and 1+ years of hands-on experience are required; TS clearance may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or physics.
• 1+ years design and/or hands-on manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Own flight hardware through highly accelerated thermal screening procedures and serve as primary contact for any associated issues or stoppages.
• Evaluate non-conforming electrical hardware to determine root cause failure modes and propose design improvements.
• Troubleshoot test software and modify the codebase to adjust test bounds, implement fixes, and incorporate updates as needed.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical design, quality, and production teams to solve high-complexity testing challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase throughput and reduce cost to meet targets.
• Write automation software in Python to interact with flight hardware, test equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation.
