Job description

Lead test engineering for advanced avionics systems! Teledyne is seeking an experienced Avionics Test Engineer to design, develop, and support test systems for cutting‑edge aerospace products. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to validate performance, ensure compliance with certification standards, and mentor junior engineers while driving continuous improvement.

What you’ll do
  • Serve as lead engineer for hardware and software test system design and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain post-certification support strategies for deployed test systems.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for test system design, modifications, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to align test systems with product requirements and certification standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve test system performance and reliability issues.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster technical growth.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality processes throughout the test system lifecycle.
What you need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in avionics or aerospace test engineering (required).
  • Strong background in hardware/software integration and automated test systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification standards (ARINC 429, ARINC 717, DO-160, DO-178).
  • Proficiency in test development tools and programming languages (ATEasy, LabVIEW, Python, C/C++).
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees) (required).
