Job summary

Cessna Aircraft Company is seeking an experienced avionics technician in Orlando, Florida, to perform functional testing and troubleshooting on aircraft avionics systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in avionics system repair, particularly with Cessna/Beechcraft products.

This role involves isolating customer complaints, diagnosing problems, and repairing defects as needed. A high school education is required, with preference given to those who have additional technical training. Airframe and Power Plant Certification is a plus.

Qualifications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs the functional testing required to isolate a customer complaint in a particular avionics system and repairing that aircraft system in accordance with FAA procedures.
  • Based on in-flight analysis and/or evaluation of information received from the customer, diagnoses problems and takes corrective action.
  • Troubleshoots problems to defective units or wiring discrepancies.
  • Replaces defective units, repairs wiring and modifies aircraft as required.
  • As required, accompanies pilot in flight to functional test repaired systems and/or aligned systems.
  • Works from aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, oral and written instructions to perform job duties.
EDUCATION
  • High School education or equivalent is required, college or technical school and/or military electronic schools preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aircraft avionics system troubleshooting and repair.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on Cessna/Beechcraft products.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
  • Airframe and Power Plant Certification preferred.
