The Avionics Technician is responsible for installation, removal, troubleshooting, and system integration of avionics on various aircraft. Tasks include troubleshooting with wiring diagrams, ensuring system functionality, and performing work per manuals and regulations. Work is performed with minimal supervision, consulting with department leads as needed.

Duties
  • Maintain electronic databases for downloads and media distribution.
  • Assist customers and technicians with troubleshooting avionics/electronic issues via phone or electronic communication.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Interpret and comply with technical data, service instructions, and airworthiness directives.
  • Perform operational checks pre/post maintenance on avionics systems.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and inspections per FAA and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Replace or repair defective components.
  • Support installation and modification of avionics systems.
  • Document maintenance actions according to FAA and repair station standards.
  • Work flexible shifts, including mission support outside normal hours and travel as needed.
  • Travel frequently to support field operations domestically and internationally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; technical training, military experience, or on-the-job training preferred.
  • FAA A&P License is REQUIRED.
  • Minimum five years of avionics troubleshooting experience on general aviation equipment (e.g., Garmin, Honeywell).
  • Knowledge of ADS-B, RVS-M, T-CAS systems.
  • Experience with FAR Part 91-411 & 91-413 checks is a plus.
Skills & Characteristics
  • Intermediate computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and make decisions based on policies.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required.
  • Valid driver’s license and US passport with vaccinations for international travel.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Able to work at heights, in extreme weather, and in various environmental conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts, requiring PPE.
